The investigation delves into the diversity of terrestrial gastropods serving as horticultural pests across Java. A comprehensive survey identified six gastropod species, comprising three snail and three slug species, across 18 host-plant species within 20 surveyed locations. Among these, certain species exhibit notable economic detriment.
Bradybaena similaris, proficient in targeting 18 plant species, and Parmarion martensi, adept at attacking 10 plant species, emerge as particularly concerning due to their potential impact on local agricultural endeavors. This paper aims to elucidate the morphological characteristics and geographic distribution of each species, alongside their respective patterns of attack and subsequent impact on host-plant species.
