The pearl oyster stands out as a significant mollusk species with considerable potential for development across multiple regions in Indonesia, including West Papua, Maluku, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The burgeoning marine and fisheries industry, inclusive of the pearl sector, has spurred rapid growth, prompting Indonesian scientists to embark on research and development endeavors concerning pearl oyster cultivation. In order to delineate the trajectory of pearl oyster research in Indonesia and ascertain avenues for further exploration, this paper delves into a comprehensive analysis of research conducted over a decade (2011-2021), utilizing the Google Scholar database and employing bibliometric techniques, complemented by visualization via VOSviewer software.

The analysis reveals that over the specified period, researchers investigating pearl oyster cultivation were categorized into 32 distinct clusters. Notably, Cokrowati emerged as the preeminent figure within this domain, contributing significantly with 4 documents, trailed closely by Ginting and Mukhlis, each with 3 documents to their credit. Among the varied species studied in relation to aquaculture, Pinctada maxima and Pteria penguin garnered considerable attention. This study underscores the potential for further research exploration on both these species, presenting promising opportunities for advancement in this field.
